WHAT FOODS TO AVOID?
DAIRY - I stay away from ALL dairy for many reasons. As far as fitness, here are my main two: Dairy deoxygenates the body causing your cells to work anaerobically. The D-galactose is proven to be pro-inflammatory, which is one of the leading causes of premature ageing.
ALCOHOL – Balance is critical, and I believe that having a social life is very important to mental health and overall happiness. That being said, I don’t expect you to eliminate alcohol, but when drinking, try to stick to 1-2 drinks twice a week and avoid any sugary mixes. Vodka soda with freshly squeezed lime is preferable!
PROCESSED FOODS – From my personal experience and research, I have found you’d rather eat the container these foods come in than the actual “food” inside. Processed foods are nutrient deficient and will yield no benefit to you. (cereal, canned meats, chips, cookies, basically anything that comes in a package except a few products listed in the food list provided below).
SODA – Most of us know we shouldn’t drink soda but do we know WHY? The sugar levels in soda cause the pancreas to release insulin immediately after it is swallowed. This causes your blood sugar to spike, and the liver then turns this sugar into fat for storage.
SUGAR-FREE/FAT-FREE/ LOW CALORIE – Food companies combined with slick advertisers have lured you into thinking this is the way to go. In actuality, this is the cause of hormonal deficiencies, obesity, low testosterone in men and premature ageing of children.
STAY OUT OF THE AISLES IN THE SUPERMARKETS AND SHOP ON THE OUTSKIRTS! PERFORMANCE ENHANCING DRUGS – Easy come easy go. I’m here for the big picture.
FUEL - Food breaks down into necessary combustible energy sources, lubricants and liquids that body needs to run.
Medicine - I also look at food as medicine. Eating the right foods for your body is the only way to stay healthy and live prosperously. I eat mindfully with understanding that what I am doing is taking energy from this earth and transferring it into my body. I’m very selective on where I shop and what I buy. I’m cautious to buy grass-fed beef and non-GMO products. Food is the deciding factor on whether people live a healthful life or indisposed manner. The decision is yours.
